Unemployment breathes easier this spring

Official unemployment numbers, signified by the number of people receiving benefits and indicating that they are searching for new work, fell by 5 million in April. At the same time, Social Security contributions rose by 51,077.

The typical spring rebound is not unexpected. Similar figures are expected for the next several months. The key will be what happens in fall, which will really show if there will be a change in abysmal unemployment trends.

For now, statistics from March and April show that jobs results are better compared to the same months in 2012, but worse than 2011. But the numbers aren't good enough, and measures are needed to lower taxes in order to incentivize job growth.
