CHISINAU (Reuters) - Moldovan lawmakers voted on Wednesday to back the formation of a new government led by a member of the pro-European coalition, agreeing on a compromise candidate in the hopes of ending months of political deadlock and staving off new elections.
The vote paves the way for Pavel Filip, a former IT and communications minister in the previous government, to become prime minister.
