Fraud case erupts in Andalusia

Now we understand why Andalusia has the most unemployment in all of Europe (it is 36.3%) despite having some of the best worker training for the jobless: the training was never administered.

Anticorruption teams are investigating a 2-billion euro fraud case involving training programs that the Andalusian government says it offered through labor unions and independent contractors. It is surprising, and suspicious as well, that up until this point none of the accused parties considered that this could be one of the biggest plunders of public funding in recent history.

The EU is asking for explanations from the Andalusian government and wants to know how the fraud has affected the rest of Europe. Nixing future cases of fraud is necessary, and to do so requires a thorough investigation of the Andalusia case.
