Hotel owners want clearer smoking laws

A major debate is going on among hotel owners about the possibility of allowing smoking in select rooms in the Eurovegas Madrid hotel. Various changes to smoking laws have caused them to spend a lot of money on room construction.

First they built designated smoking areas, then they outlawed smoking entirely and as a compromise they built covered terraces for smokers. Business owners in the sector complain that made-to-measure solutions are confusing and ineffective. Instead, they want to see consistent and objective solutions that apply to everyone and don't hurt their business.

If the government intends to change the current smoking ban, it should apply these changes to all businesses and reconcile tensions between good health and good business.
