In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office.

Later in the morning, the President will participate in a Town Hall on the on-going efforts to find a balanced approach to deficit reduction at the University of Maryland, College Park.

In the afternoon, the President will meet with Prime Minister John Key of New Zealand in the Oval Office to discuss the close friendship and partnership between our two countries, our shared interest in stability, growth and effective regional institutions in the Asia Pacific, and our cooperation in addressing challenges like Afghanistan and the famine in East Africa. Following the meeting, the President and Prime Minister Key will deliver statements to the press in the Oval Office.

Later in the afternoon, the President will meet with Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen in the Oval Office. Later, the President will meet with Ambassador Karl Eikenberry and Mrs. Eikenberry to thank the Ambassador for his service in Afghanistan and throughout his career.

Four Dow components report their quarterly results on Friday: Verizon, General Electric, Caterpillar and McDonald's.

Analysts expect that Verizon earned 55 cents a share last quarter, while GE earned 32 cents a share, McDonald's had a profit of $1.28 per share and Caterpillar earned $1.79 a share.

Other names reporting on Friday include former Dow member Honeywell, imaging company Xerox and oil company Schlumberger.
