NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks pared losses shortly after the open on Thursday, with all three major indexes briefly turning positive.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 12.71 points, or 0.11 percent, at 11,402.15. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 1.96 points, or 0.16 percent, at 1,196.66. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 1.61 points, or 0.06 percent, at 2,547.33.
