NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks rose on Monday as commodity-related shares rebounded from last week's collapse, masking deeper doubts about what will sustain the market's long-term strength.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 46.09 points, or 0.36 percent, at 12,684.83. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 6.09 points, or 0.45 percent, at 1,346.29. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 15.69 points, or 0.55 percent, at 2,843.25.
Preliminary data showed the composite daily volume on NYSE, Amex and Nasdaq was at 5.6 billion shares after Citigroup's
