WARSAW (Reuters) - Former Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, who leads the largest opposition party Law and Justice (PiS), said on Saturday he will not become Prime Minister if his party wins the parliamentary election in the autumn.
Kaczynski named Law and Justice lawmaker and deputy leader Beata Szydlo, 52, as the party's candidate for the post. Earlier this year, Szydlo led the successful election campaign of president-elect Andrzej Duda.
"I decided to ask Law and Justice's highest authorities to put Beata Szydlo's candidacy forward for the prime minister post should we win," Kaczynski said.
