Los Angeles, USA, Feb 23 (EFE).- U.S. pop star Taylor Swift donated $250,000 to fellow singer Kesha to help with any of Kesha's financial needs during the sexual assault trial against her music producer, Dr. Luke, reported the specialized music website Billboard.
On Feb. 19, the Supreme Court of New York ruled that Kesha can not record music outside of the record label and without input of the producer, Dr. Luke, who the singer accuses of "physically and emotionally" abusing her.
Kesha also claims that Dr. Luke drugged and raped her over a decade ago while the producer denies all the charges.
The ruling created significant impact in the media and social networks under the #FreeKesha label. Artists such as Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Lorde and Demi Lovato publicly supported the plaintiff.
On Monday it was announced that Taylor Swift donated $ 250,000 to Kesha to help with her financial support while her trial continues.
The pop and dance artist Kesha was born 1987 in Los Angeles. She debuted with the album 'Animal' in 2010 which included hit numbers like 'Tik Tok' and her latest LP published to date is 'Warrior' in published in 2012.
