VWR International, LLC, a leading global laboratory supply company, announced that it has hired Eddy Wu to lead its Asia–Pacific region. The addition of Wu to the senior leadership team of VWR is a significant, strategic investment that signifies the Company´s commitment to growing in the region and thereby strengthening its global presence.
Wu is the Senior Vice President & President, Asia–Pacific, responsible for leadership and management of VWR´s existing business in India, China and Singapore, as well as its Global Sourcing and Services organizations operating in the region.

Wu and his team will be responsible for transitioning business previously handled by VWR´s export operations to an in–country distribution model. As part of this transition, he will lead the construction and start–up of the recently announced regional warehouse situated in Singapore.
In addition, Wu will manage all acquisition activities in the region as VWR expands its Asia–Pacific infrastructure and enters new markets. Finally, he will coordinate the activities of global and local suppliers to meet the requirements of VWR´s global customers in Asia–Pacific and the rest of the world. "Eddy brings exceptional leadership experience and a refreshing entrepreneurial spirit that will enable us to exceed our goals in this promising region of the world," added Ballbach.
Wu most recently was the President & CEO for Momentive Performance Materials, Asia–Pacific, located in Tokyo. Prior to the acquisition of Momentive by a private equity firm, he was the President & CEO of the company otherwise known as GE Toshiba Silicone. During Wu´s 18 years with GE, he held various general management, sales and marketing roles in North America and Asia. Wu has a BS in Chemistry from the University of Hong Kong and an MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
