The Government Services division of Intertek has announced that it has concluded a new contract to provide valuation services for the Government of Ghana.
The service is being delivered in conjunction with Bankswitch Ghana Ltd, who are implementing a state of the art Customs Management System in Ghana. The new system is named Ghana Customs Secure Document Management System (GCSDMS). It provides an integrated, end–to–end system automating all key steps associated with customs entry processing, payments, and clearance. The system will be progressively rolled out over the next few months, with go live planned for 1st January 2009.
Ghana Customs will use Intertek´s independent valuation services to verify the dutiable value of imports.
