The Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), an organization driving global technologies for smartphone-centric car connectivity solutions, today announced that the all-new ŠKODA Superb is MirrorLink®-enabled. Now standard on more of today’s most popular vehicles and smartphones, MirrorLink is the most ingenious way to bring smartphone content to the dash. Huge icons make apps easy to use and smart technology knows if the car is in Park or Drive.
ŠKODA and the CCC invite the press and public to see the all-new MirrorLink-enabled Superb - along with the MirrorLink-enabled Fabia and Fabia Combi - in ŠKODA’s booth at the Geneva International Motor Show, taking place now through March 15.
MirrorLink is the leading industry standard for car-smartphone connectivity and is designed for maximum interoperability between a wide range of smartphones and cars. MirrorLink is also the only OS- and OEM-agnostic standard for car-smartphone connectivity and the only vendor-neutral standard where no single entity has a controlling stake. MirrorLink thus offers the quickest global route to more responsible and enjoyable connected driving.
“The ŠKODA Superb is an ideal showcase to demonstrate how automakers can leverage MirrorLink to deliver luxury infotainment at an affordable price,” said Alan Ewing, President and Executive Director of the CCC. “Furthermore, not only can automakers save millions in infotainment R&D, dashboard apps remain as up-to-date as a driver’s smartphone. By clearing the way for the mobile content drivers desire most, MirrorLink helps automakers significantly enhance the value of their brand.”
