NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Nasdaq rose 1 percent on Friday, helped by Internet leader Google , which reported earnings that beat expectations after the bell on Thursday.
GOOGLE (GOOG.NQ)rose nearly 7 percent to $326.81, while MICROSOFT (MSFT.NQ)
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> lost 46.91 points, or 0.58 percent, to 8,075.89. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> added 4.38 points, or 0.53 percent, to 831.88. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> rose 16.54 points, or 1.13 percent, to 1,482.03.
