NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks plunged further on Thursday, taking the benchmark S&P 500 down more than 7 percent as the gloom about the economy's outlook and fallout from the credit crisis mounted.
The market's tumble got much worse within the last half-hour of the trading, putting Wall Street on course for a 7th straight day of losses.
