MILAN (Reuters) - Italian power company Enel SpA has inaugurated its biggest wind power project, a 250- megawatt U.S. wind farm, Enel said on Thursday.
The Smoky Hills plant in the state of Kansas will be operational by the end of the year, ENEL (ENEL.IT)said in a statement. It is the biggest wind power project built in Great Plains state.
The site can supply the power needs of 85,000 U.S. households, the company said.
GE Financial Services, a unit of General Electric Co., is also an investor in the project.
