ABU DHABI (Reuters) - Renewable energies such as solar, wind or geothermal power could surge to supply almost 80 percent of the world's demand by 2050 if backed by the right policies, a U.N. report said on Monday.
The study, by the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, said a shift away from fossil fuels could be a huge help in cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
