NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Nasdaq <.IXIC> fell more than 1 percent near midday trading on Wednesday as overall equities indexes extended losses.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 4.24 points, or 0.04 percent, at 11,833.69. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 9.02 points, or 0.70 percent, at 1,286.00. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 26.29 points, or 0.95 percent, at 2,739.56.
