Gulf well test could exceed 48 hours: BP executive

HOUSTON (Reuters) - A critical pressure test on BP Plc's blown-out Gulf of Mexico oil well could last beyond the original 48-hour deadline, and pressure was rising slowly, a company executive said on Saturday.

"There's no evidence we don't have integrity," Kent Wells, BP <:BP.LO:>s senior vice president of exploration and production, said regarding the slowly rising pressure in the well. The 48-hour mark will come Saturday afternoon, but he said that "under certain circumstances" the test could be extended.
