Dow, S&P 500 slip on recovery worry

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Dow and S&P 500 dipped on Friday as China's move to curb bank lending and economic data both in the U.S. and abroad stoked fears that the global economic recovery might be in jeopardy.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 45.05 points, or 0.44 percent, to close at 10,099.14. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> lost 2.96 points, or 0.27 percent, to close at 1,075.51. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> rose 6.12 points, or 0.28 percent, at 2,183.53.
