U.S. making progress with China on climate: official

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States is making progress with China on the issue of Beijing's emissions curbs being transparent but cannot predict whether an agreement will result from the Copenhagen talks, a U.S. official said on Thursday.

President Barack Obama will also underscore the intention of the United States to lead on climate change during brief remarks he will make at the U.N. summit on Friday, another U.S. official told reporters on a conference call.
