NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks jumped to session highs on Friday, recovering from an earlier drop, as investors snapped up energy shares and stocks of companies benefiting from a weaker dollar.

Shares of Sears Holdings Corp The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 55.12 points, or 0.66 percent, to 8,347.25. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 5.41 points, or 0.61 percent, to 893.74. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> added 7.04 points, or 0.42 percent, to 1,702.29.
