NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks rose in choppy trade on Wednesday, after JPMorgan's Chief Executive Jamie Dimon told CNBC the bank has been profitable for the first two months of 2009.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 43.09 points, or 0.62 percent, to 6,969.58. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> added 6.33 points, or 0.88 percent, to 725.93. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> rose 20.51 points, or 1.51 percent, to 1,378.79.
