Yesterday Artur Mas handed Mariano Rajoy a document with 23 "top priority" ideas that would cost Spain 7.5 billion euros. Most of his demands are economic and address the lack of financing, investment and infrastructure that Spain allocates to Catalonia.
Also, there was a petition from a Superior Judge of the Supreme Court of Catalonia, although the Pujol family scandal made Mas want to hide it from the press. The government should not fall into this trap and give concessions to Catalonia, because past experience shows that these will only provide temporary relief. Instead, we should find permanent solutions, even if we need to modify the Constitution to do so.
