Endesa to change course

Francesco Starace, the CEO of Enel, wants to bet on his mature markets in Italy and Spain and sell off his Latin America subsidiary. As part of this deal, Endesa will pay shareholders a bonus dividend of 7 billion euros following the sale of its holdings across the Atlantic.

Later, he will consider an IPO at a higher price. As a result, Endesa could end up smaller, but more invested in Spain. The company's president, Borja Prado, was able to ensure that the company that manages the Latin American side of their business remains in Spain and pays taxes here. This decision alone will limit the economic impact here.
