Its president, José Luis Sáez, made it clear that the sport needs to changes its business model by embracing private financing, and he did not hesitate to criticize how many clubs are relying on government money to stay alive.
The Federation was able to organize a World Cup in 2009 in the midst of a recession without relying on public money, and its management strategy overall has been very profitable through private-sector financing and a healthy balance sheet.
