Yoigo tries to sell shares as prices plummet

Once again Yoigo is looking for buyers. Two years ago, Vodafone and Orange were interested in buying stakes in the Spanish subsidiary of the Nordic mobile phone operator Telia Sonera, but no deal was reached because of a disagreement on price.

Now, the same story is repeating and Telia Sonera is tired of chasing the deal. After some disappointing earnings, Yoigo is selling stock in its company that has been losing value for weeks. Revenues and profits are falling, an effect that has been exacerbated by the fact that carriers are consolidating across the industry and trimming prices. All this makes business hard and finding a buyer even harder. Orange and Jazztel have expressed some interest, but only if they buy it for a song.
