The new president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Junker, started his term yesterday with an ambitious 300 billion euro investment plant focused on transportation, R&D, wideband internet and energy.
The changes are less strange coming from a man that abandoned Europe's austerity policy and rose to his position with the help of the social democrat party. Still, it's difficult to count on Merkel supporting this change in course, especially since Juncker has made it clear that he will not get us out of this crisis with public spending. If that is his position, then he needs to explain how he plans to do it and where the money will come from.
