Without question, the tourism sector has said goodbye to the economic crisis and is driving a recovery in Spain. According to Exceltur, the sector will grow 2.4% this year, which is the highest year-to-year spike since 2007. Clearly, Spain is the place to be right now.
Many tourists are coming from other countries, but domestic travel seems to be picking up as well. Also we should point out that tourism is booming because of aggressive discounts offered by budget hotels. This is not to say that the hotels are of poor quality, however, because nationwide hotels have been improving their amenities in order to stay competitive and attract guests.
