Social security filings finally improving

Jobless claims and social security filings are definitely looking good thanks to a boom in the tourism and service industry economies, which is most obvious in regions that count on these sectors most. Jobs continue to melt away in other sectors such as industry, construction and agriculture.

115,430 people filed for unemployment in April, and 64,774 of them are from the hospitality industry where jobs will continue to grow as spending rises leading up to and lasting through the summer vacation season. While these jobs are temporary by nature, they are still important for the national economy. Hopefully, the government will not use the new numbers to fuel its electoral campaign.
