Spanish business owners say that 329,000 new jobs will be created during the next two years. The news adds to the recent wave of optimism that has stormed our country, but this number could be smaller than it looks in a country with six million unemployed. Either way, even the darkest pessimists cannot deny that a rising tide of hiring marks a new inflection point.
We are better off now than a year ago, and experts say that in 2014 we will experience a net gain of 110,000 jobs. While the path won't be easy and we will have to ensure that the new jobs are of good quality, at least we are taking a few steps forward. Overall, it looks like the government is not getting self-satisfied and reforms are going in the right direction.
