The Italians are mourning as Fiat, a major global auto brand, leaves the country. Fiat has announced that it will go public on the NYSE and move its production headquarters to the Netherlands and its financial headquarters to the United Kingdom. The restructuring will also change its brand name to Fiat Chrysler Automobile, because the company is buying 100% of the Chrysler brand.
The change was expected, but an unfortunate circumstance of living in a globalized world and a warning for leaders that companies can flee to other countries in search of a better deal at any time.
