It was Minister Ana Pastor that said there will be no more airports without passengers and no more highways without drivers. Now Aena has given the green light to expand the Galician airports at Vigo and A Coruña despite the high chance that they will lose money.
True, the PSOE started the projects when it was in office. But it does not make sense that 100 million of taxpayer funds would be invested now in two projects that are losing money. The Vigo airport is not even needed, because it has been proven that it has lost 20% of its passengers. Aena should align with Rajoy's policy to streamline public works and transportation projects and try to improve existing airports before privatizing them, a process that is taking longer than expected.
