Rajoy and Obama to meet at White House, quiet talks expected

The meeting between Mariano Rajoy and Barack Obama at the white house is a standard diplomatic appointment between ally nations. For Rajoy the meeting is important because it strengthens his image and provides a chance to support his political policy.

Still, major agreements are not expected. Both leaders will leverage the meeting to wax political on the end of the financial crisis. A year ago Spain was a major worry for the United States because of fears that Spain would have to drop the euro. But now both Obama and Rajoy are more focused on whether their nations will run or jog down the road to recovery.
