SICAVs wind down an awesome year

The Sociedades de Capital de Inversión Variable, equities investment funds also known as SICAVs, are alive again after they lost a lto of money during the recession. Like a phoenix risen from the ashes, many of them will finish the year with around 9% gains.

This year´s results are the third best of the decade. Only 2003 and 2006 were better years, when equities funds saw 10% and 12% gains, respectively. But there was significant economic growth during these years.

Because 2013 was a good year for equities, and additional positive economic indicators suggest that the recovery is under way. The forecast for 2014 looks good.
