More and more companies in Catalonia are criticizing the predicament that the region is in because of Arturo Mas and his vision to secede from Spain.
Banco Sabadell was the latest to speak out. The group rose up from the Catalonian bourgeoisie, spread throughout Spain and now asks for a rational agreement that will suppress tensions between the region?s leaders and the Spanish national government. Reconciliation depends not only on Mas and the Republican Left of Catalonia (known more commonly by the ERC in Spanish), but also Rajoy, his team and other national parties.
An independent Catalonia is a crazy idea. It lacks logic and common sense, because the region would be cut off from the rest of the EU economically. This is not something that Rosell, Grupo Planeta, Freixenet and other companies want to see happen. Hopefully, political leaders will start thinking this way, too.
