Méndez should resign from UGT secretary position

The General Union of Workers, a major labor union in Spain also known by the acronym UGT, has endured numerous scandals that Cándido Méndez has not been able to fix. Now he is distancing himself from the problems and letting union leaders deal with them. Secretary General of the union, Méndez is responsible for providing answers about everything that happens within his organization.

Scandals aside, Méndez has been Secretary General of the UFT since 1994. The union would benefit from a change of leadership and increased dialogues and debates when voting on issues. Workers have been alienated and lack leadership on key problems.

Méndez has managed the UGT with such a rigid style that it cannot find solutions it needs to beat unemployment. This is reason enough to overhaul the company's leadership and labor strategy at the same time.
