Managing the political economy not so easy

The government's Economic Office has great influence, but no power. At least this is what the agency's leader Alberto Nadal thinks. He has successfully restructured the office to solidify a center of power that up until now was lacking.

Among other reasons because power was formerly dispersed among the Ministry of the Economy, Finance Ministry and Ministry of the Exterior. Too many disparate voices caused internal squabbles, some of them instigated by Prime Minister Rajoy when he failed to name a vice president of the economy with power and authority.

Team Moncloa has taken positions, building a parallel Ministry of the Economy that is eager to change the government.
