Valencia has yet to pay service providers

The Valencia regional government still has not squared its accounts. If 2012 was a bad year financially, then 2013 is not going to be any better because Fabra's government has yet to pay service providers for the work they have performed. Last year 4.35 billion euros of bills were paid, but another 5 billion was left unpaid in addition to the 886 million euros of debt that the town councils accumulated.

It's true that the government that Camps left Fabra was a shambles, but the current leader has not been able to figure out how to make the situation better. Spending has shot up by almost 3 billion euros above budget, the region's debt has increased and it received 10.8 billion euros from the national government. All of these measures have barely improved their severe budget imbalance.

Fabra cannot carry out the reforms that Valencia needs, and he has done little more than increase the region's debt load. The Valencian people deserve better.
