Little by little, justice is being meted out for a group of bankers that squandered the accounts they managed and forced taxpayers across Spain and Europe to bail them out and threaten the nation with a bailout scenario.
A committee called La Fiscalía Anticorrupción has asked that Narcís Serra, Adolf Todó and 54 boardmembers from CataluynaCaixa to be charged for financial crimes when managing the bank.
They are being accused of inflating their salaries after receiving 1.25 billion euros in bailout money from the Frob when this move clearly put the bank in financial danger.
Their actions show that the savings bank was run with the managers' personal interest in mind and without paying close attention to what risks the bank was being exposed to. The managers should be punished for these actions.
