Andalusia's UGT to rebuild internally

The General Union of Workers (known as the UGT in Spanish) has formed an internal committee to clear up how taxpayer funds were allocated to job training programs. This step signifies a major change in the strategy that the socialist party labor union has followed to date. So far it has been reluctant to recognize various accounting discrepencies.

The union's willingness to pay back the 115,000 euros that it received suggest it has a bad conscience about the funds and implies that there really were accounting imbalances.

UGT should explain to the Andalusian parliament how it managed taxpayer money and start an internal restructuring similar to the process carried out within the Andalusian regional government office. Insiting that it did nothing wrong will do nothing to right its public image.
