FCC to build metro train in Saudi Arabia

A committee led by the FCC, one of Europe's largest service provider companies headed by Esther Alcocer Koplowitz, has contracted three metro lines in Riad, Saudi Arabia. The contract is valued at just over 6 billion euros.

According to FCC, this would be the largest international construction contract ever for a Spanish company. It would add a large number of low- and high-skilled jobs for Spain. Of the 30,000 jobs created, half of them would go to engineers and technical specialists.

This contract will validate the effort that big Spanish construction firms have made to survive the crisis by finding projects in the foreign sector. It will also ease debt pressures for FCC.
