Analysts think that national energy reforms will reduce profits of private power companies by 5.5% through 2016. This equals 1.283 billion euros in lost revenue for the sector.
We should bear in mind that markets are discounting the effect that reforms will have. And reforms will not affect all power companies equally. Because renewable energy companies will not fare as well, earnings expectations for companies like Abengoa and Acciona are weakening.
