Flexible employment attracts workers to automotive sector

After 2012 cutbacks, automobile sector jobs seem safer in 2013. Spanish factories are attracting new investments at new Fugueruelas Opel and Ford Mondeo plants with less staffing, flexible work options and competitive salaries.

This is the strategy that was used to counter falling car buying, which was spurred on by the region's ongoing recession. Domestic auto sales have not fallen any more thanks to buying bonuses offered by teh government for tourist and industrial vehicles.

The current view is increasingly optimistic, but doubts remain as some factories continue to use ERE temporary labor contracts and try to ride out the crisis through technological innovations and more flexible employment practices.
