Are Feria accounts transparent enough?

At a time when transparency is needed most across all institutions in Spain, the numerous city and regional government festivals in Spain, known as ferias, are demonstrating a glaring opacity in how they manage their budgets. The festivals receive public funding, and their board meetings are staffed by representatives from town and regional governments.

As happened with the savings banks, it doesn't make much sense that politicians are so involved in roles that economists are more suited for. The government should include this issue in its Transparency Law and in its public sector reforms.
