Chevron makes a deal with YPF

Repsol has opened a new legal battle through a New York appeals court, via the American oil company Chevron, in an effort to reach a final agreement with the Argentine government about the YPF expropriation that occured in April 2012.

The Spanish oil company stood by its accusation in previous negotiations that the Argentine government held with Chevron without its knowledge. These secret meetings violated YPF's corporate statutes and ended in an illegal agreement between the two companies.

Once again, it looks like Kirschner and the Argentine government made decisions based on their own interest and the interest of corporate leaders, which has created questions about the security of the country's justice system and brought to light evidence of mismanagement on the part of YPF's new leadership.
