Montoro says no to lighter tax load

The government's reform agenda highlights the forecasts that it has made about the effects of recent decisions to heal the Spanish economy. A positive impact is expected for job numbers and the success of reforms to the labor and financial sectors. The service provider payment plan also worked well. However, tax consolidation and the VAT increase have not panned out.

And the government expects to keep the same level of taxation through 2019. This clearly shows that Montoro has no intention of lowering taxes and that the slight adjustments will have hardly any effect.

The document does not mention the public sector either. Montoro has slowed yet another reform, because his tax policy cripples what the country needs in order to rejuvenate the economy and complete the Peoples' Party's reform agenda.
