A judge has charged Caja Madrid's former CEO Miguel Blesa for granting a loan to Gerardo Díaz, who used to own Marsans and is the ex-president of the Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organisations (CEOE is the acronym in Spanish).
Blesa, who was hired to run a healthy and profitable company, drove it into the ground with bad management characterized by using his position to serve individual interests.
Shareholders and have lost money from Caja Madrid's downfall, but Blesa has not spoken up about his mismanagement at all.
The same story happened at other savings banks and indicates that now is the time to let justice rule and make those that broke the system pay for their mistakes.
