The National Energy Commission has opened two cases against power companies for the sharp price hikes that happened between October and December of last year and further price movements in the first two weeks of January.
The investigation will focus on the prices of adjustments and changes to energy sales based on daily fluctuations in power usage in order to keep prices high. The companies within the power sector have to increase their transparency, because this market is complex, and consumers want to protect themselves from vast price anomolies.
