Foreign investors flock to Spanish debt

Statements made by Mario Draghi in September caused investors to run fast and far from Spanish debt. Since then until the end of December, this trend has changed dramatically.

During this time frame foreign investments in Spanish debt increased by 32.826 billion euros, which is a different story than the first three quarters, which was marked by volatile trading as investors took out 89.603 billion euros in notes, bonds and other investments in Spanish debt. In 2012 over 57 billion euros left Spain, which was the most in history. But the reversing trend shows a new confidence in Spain's economy.
