New law to finally unify trade markets

Assuring free trade of goods and services throughout Spain is a classic aspiration for companies and professionals in and out of our country. Yesterday, the government approved a bill that will unify markets and do away with regional government trade barriers.

If passed into law, the bill would allow companies to run anywhere in Spain with a single business license. Further, it would create a National Council for Unified Markets in order to coordinate trade guidelines for regional governments. There will inevitably be conflicts with laws that some regions have on the books right now.

This council should show its ability to negotiate in order to safeguard a common market, which is an obvious core goal that can ultimately increase profits for companies and economic growth for the Spain.
